Alexander Muhm to become new Head of SBB Real Estate.

As of 1 January 2019, Alexander Muhm will become a member of the SBB Management Board and Head of SBB Real Estate. Previously a member of the Management Board of SBB Real Estate, he will succeed Jürg Stöckli. At the start of 2018, Mr Stöckli decided to leave SBB after over eight years on the Management Board and take his career in a new direction. Susanne Zenker will replace Alexander Muhm as Head of Development and member of the Management Board of SBB Real Estate.

As a member of the division management for Real Estate, Alexander Muhm has managed the Development division since 2013. In this role, he advanced the so-called regional overall perspective for combined mobility and helped to shape major station projects such as the Zurich cross-city link and Léman 2030 in French-speaking Switzerland, currently the largest rail project in the country. Together with SBB’s partners, he has devised integrated solutions for services, infrastructure and site development that benefit customers, ordering parties and SBB alike. Mr Muhm has worked with his team to further expand the SBB Real Estate project portfolio and has overseen innovation projects such as Smart City and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

As of 1 January 2019, Alexander Muhm will succeed the present Head of SBB Real Estate, Jürg Stöckli. Mr Stöckli has headed up the Real Estate division since December 2010 and has been successful in further developing it into a lucrative pillar of SBB. At the start of 2018, the 49-year-old decided to leave SBB after over eight years on the Management Board and take his career in a new direction.

Alexander Muhm studied architecture in Vienna, has a doctorate in technical sciences from TU Wien and an Executive MBA in General Management from the University of St. Gallen. He is 41 years old and lives in Solothurn.

Susanne Zenker from Lausanne will replace Alexander Muhm as Head of Development and member of the Management Board of SBB Real Estate. In recent years, she was responsible for complex real estate projects in the early stages of site development. Together with her team and regional partners, she worked on, among other things, developing the overall perspective for Geneva, the former Wolf freight station in Basel and the track area in Winterthur.
